Once a month, The Metea PTSA awards a teacher or staff member with a 'Tireless Teacher Award.' The staff member selected will receive a certificate, gift card, and traveling trophy. Please complete this short form to nominate your favorite teacher! Look on the PTSA Facebook page for pictures of prior winners. Thanks in advance for letting our Metea staff members know what a positive difference they make!
IPPC Coat Drive (October only)
During the month of October we will be collecting new/gently used, clean coats and winter boots of all sizes (infant through adult). In addition, we are in need of other winter accessories such as; hats, coats, scarves, snow pants, etc. Please have your child bring these items to Metea and drop them off in the marked boxes at the entrance doors of the school.
Young Hearts for Life
We need over 100 volunteers!
Young Hearts for Life is a heart screening initiative involving a simple three-minute ECG that is administered to students at no cost. The goal of the program is to screen high school students and identify those who might be at risk for sudden cardiac death, which is estimated to claim the lives of more than 60 young adults each week in the U.S. This program is free and available to all high school students thanks to generous financial support provided by Edward-Elmhurst Health and the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation. This project is also made possible through hundreds of community volunteers. Click here to volunteer!
