PTSA Young Hearts for Life
We need over 100 volunteers!
District 204 is teaming up with Young Hearts for Life, Edward-Elmhurst Health, and the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation to host the Young Hearts for Life Cardiac Screening Program for high school students. This is the sixth time District 204 has hosted the program, which is offered this year at all three high schools.
Young Hearts for Life is a heart screening initiative involving a simple three-minute ECG that is administered to students at no cost. The goal of the program is to screen high school students and identify those who might be at risk for sudden cardiac death, which is estimated to claim the lives of more than 60 young adults each week in the U.S. This program is free and available to all high school students thanks to generous financial support provided by Edward-Elmhurst Health and the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation. This project is also made possible through hundreds of community volunteers.
Volunteers are currently needed for the 2018-2019 screenings at all three high schools. No medical knowledge is needed to volunteer. However, volunteers are required to attend a training session prior to the screening.
